Eco-Design and the Greenwich Peninsula

	Issue to be Addressed:
	Eco-Design
	Severity of Issue:
	Moderate

There are two issues at stake here: green space and housing. The Greenwich Peninsula
lacks green-space and would benefit greatly from improved ecological design and
landscaping. While some efforts have been made, especially with the ecological park,
the Peninsula and the Greenwich Millennium Village (GMV) are still exposed. Keeping in
mind that the Peninsula is a construction site in various stages of urban regeneration,
some of this will be repaired as development is completed.

The Borough of Greenwich has many green spaces throughout its district but very
little is actually on the peninsula. Greenwich Peninsula is being targeted as a new
housing area for London, which can easily be incorporated into an eco-design concept,
in keeping with the current efficiency standards of the GMV. By integrating an
eco-commune into the housing plans, environmental ideals will be further promoted.
